SOPHIA AUGUSTINE
Music is the one thing in this world I’ve always been good at. It’s always been the one thing that never made me feel like I was stupid or unnatural because it came so easy to me. Mostly because when I was a kid, there were always so many types of music playing around the house. An abundance of indie rock like Needtobreathe and Kings of Leon, and folk music like Mumford and Sons, or just killer instrumentalists and singers like John Mayer, Esperanza Spalding, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, etc. So many types of feels and rhythms were guided to my bones to be able to play and show how much I can turn notes into so many types of feelings for listeners.
That’s all I want.
Whether it’s from my bass, piano, guitar, or my voice, I just want people open to listen and really tone in on their feelings of whatever I’m playing and enjoy what music can provide. Because the knowledge it provides me with every day is that I am seen and heard by so many people who are willing to listen to what I have to say from the gift I’ve been given. - Sophia
